What the Melbourne data says
Melbourne is comparatively well served. Across the 1,623 analysis cells within 25 km of the CBD, covering roughly 2,371,598 residents, only 1 cell scores as an outright charging blackspot — 220 existing chargers have covered most of the obvious demand. How the scoring works
Every Melbourne location is scored the same way as everywhere else in Australia: Getis-Ord Gi* hotspot statistics on demand, an OLS demand-gap regression, and a machine-learnt suitability model, all computed over open government data.
